1)Type of Grass- The first thing you need to do about your lawn is figure out the right type of grass for your backyard. Different types of grass are suitable for different climates. Make sure that the grass in your backyard is suitable for the place you live.
2)Mow Your Yard- Mow your grass whenever it is growing. In spring mow your yard at least once a week. Make sure you don’t mow your lawn when it’s too cold or too hot.
3)Water Your Grass- This is probably the most important tip. Make sure you water your grass at least once a week. If you live in dry area and you rather not spend water on the grass, it is fine, your grass can be kept without water as long as you don’t mow it. When it grows it protects the roots, that way your grass will stay alive till it rains and then it will become green again.
4)Fertilizers- The amount of fertilizer you should feed your grass really depends on the soil that your grass is growing on. With that being said,you should use liquid lawn fertilizer at least once a year.
5)Lose the Weeds- The best way to keep crabgrass away from your lawn, is keeping your grass healthy. When your grass is healthy and well kept, it doesn’t leave room for weed to grow. Mowing your lawn regularly can also help keeping the weeds away.
6)Don’t expect sport stadium grass- The grass in football stadiums and golf courts sure looks nice, but they are kept by professional crews that work on them for hours every single day. You cannot expect your grass to look the same if you don’t give it the same level of care.
